Midlife Women – A Force to be Reckoned With

Screen shot 2015-11-28 at 4.50.59 PMIn 2009 the Dalai Lama declared that the world will be saved by the Western woman.

I think I understand what he meant by that and love that he said it.

But I believe he left out one word: midlife.

I believe that midlife women are a force to be reckoned with. I believe that midlife women who are being called to graduate to the next level of our evolution are part of the force that can transform the world.

I call that force Wise Women Waking.

Actually, Wise Women Waking is a convergence of three powerful forces.

1. The first powerful force is the choice point, the turning point, that humanity is at right now.

Which direction will we go in? Will we continue to head towards destruction and perhaps make our world uninhabitable? Or will we achieve the great evolutionary leap towards a higher level of consciousness that will transform our world and our species? Will we be able to raise ourselves up towards our highest potential and create the world we all long for?

The great amount of awakening happening all over the globe today points to how quickly human evolution is accelerating. And every Wise Woman Waking is part of that movement.

2. The second powerful force is the return of the Feminine, the Divine Feminine principle, to the Earth.

A great part of the current awakening is the resurgence of the feminine principle that has been suppressed for so long, to the detriment of life on Earth. The qualities of the feminine are needed to bring our world into balance and harmony and to restore priority to life, love, and inter-dependence, over power, fear, and domination.

Part of the Divine Feminine that is not always mentioned is the Wise Woman archetype, the energy of the mature female. This essence is embodied by every Wise Woman with years of experience, wisdom, and passionate purpose ready to harvest in the service of life.

We who are Wise Women Waking are part of the resurgence of the Feminine.

3. Finally, the third powerful force is the individual soul of each and every Wise Woman who is feeling called to contribute, called to awaken, called to remember who she is and why she is here at this time. The awakening soul is a huge source of power, love, and wisdom ready to erupt into our world with action, energy, voice, and presence.

As each woman feels the call of her soul to explore and discover her potentials, to be, do, and give more of her true self, to join with the forces of transformation, and to add her personal thread of light to the new reality being woven .. the ripple effect spreads out exponentially. It is time for us to remember who we are on the highest level and to discover that a time of great fulfillment is awaiting us as we step forward and say yes to it.

Not only is it not too late, but this is our time to bloom!

I invite all Wise Women Waking to join this movement, this gathering momentum for transformation in the world, and in the process to discover a joy, power, and energy that you may not have even guessed at before.

Women in midlife and beyond can be an army of light, of conscious intention, and of practical and subtle wisdom to help heal the world. The power lies within each and every one of us when we hear the call…. and answer it.

Within each one of us lies enormous potential power and creativity waiting to be unleashed. We are a force to be reckoned with!

Giving great thanks

Screen shot 2015-11-25 at 2.16.37 PMWhat can we say of thanks-giving that has not already been said?

The best thing about remembering to give thanks – even in a formalized way through a national holiday (even one based on falsely concocted national myths) – is that it encourages many of us to shift our attention from our personal sorrows, fears, and desires to a bigger picture.

It helps us shift our lens from our mind to our heart, from the eyes of calculation for what we can get, to  the eyes of appreciation for all we already receive.

For some it is e a time of appreciating those closest to us. For others it may go further to include thanks for the simple amenities of life we take for granted – hot water, safe housing, enough food. For others the appreciation may extend further, to the bounty of the Earth that is the support of all life, despite how we abuse her. And for some it may go even further, to Existence itself, the very miracle of Being that brings us all into this moment of experience – whether that moment is pleasurable or not.

For the truth is that every moment is an out-breath of something we cannot fathom, a mystery greater than we normally even pause to consider.

Is it appropriate to thank that which breathes us into existence – we and the entire universe? Are thanks in order? Or is it something more like humility and awe?

Can we stop our mental calculations long enough to look up to witness such a bigger view?

And what purpose does that serve?

I believe humanity is moving in a direction of inclusivity, away from the ground rules of separation that have caused so much chaos and suffering for so long.

The impulse to remember what we are grateful for is a moment of inclusivity in larger and larger circles of connection. It is a moment of recognizing our interdependence, and that the ultimate reality we are part of is totally out of our hands – and yet is a blessing.

The impulse to give thanks helps us to remember that self-reliance (the great myth of our culture) is a delusion, and that we are all co-participants and co-creators in a great dance so vast we cannot see its pattern or its edges.

We do not know how the steps of our lives contribute to the pattern of the dance – because we cannot see the big picture and we’ve been given no rules to follow.

But I am sure that every step you take and every step I take in our seemingly separate lives, and every occurrence on this and all worlds, are all part of that dance, whose beauty and meaning are continually emerging in patterns we cannot comprehend.

And I trust that some great Eye is witnessing it all and giving thanks.

Akashic Guides on Mysteries of Scorpio

Lotus in dark
I received a powerful message from the Akashic Guides this month on the intense, passionate Scorpionic energies of the new moon.

What do you think they mean? Are they referring to Kundalini? I asked the question to my Facebook community and got a fascinating assortment of responses.

“Hidden in the heart of darkness lies coiled the serpent of Truth.
Seeking that knowledge is the quest of a lifetime.

All who go on the search for the deepest truth shall be rewarded by the unwinding of their own serpentine energies, that will lead them back all the way to their Original Self.

Go on this quest, as the world needs those who pioneer in the darkness, trusting the Light.

You who are led by the light must never cease from the quest for the inmost truth that resides within you.

It is a glowing jewel in the dark and is waiting for you to reach its lair.

When you enter there, true transformation will erupt, and the old will become new again.”

Passionate and Intense SCORPIO Rebirth!

New MoonI have an announcement to make.

At the end of 2015 I will be retiring the New Moon Magic emails!  I expect this to be the next to the last of my new moon messages.

The reason is: I want all my energy available to focus on the new work that is coming through me: Wise Women Waking and Pathways to Empowerment.

I plan to be doing a lot of writing (blog posts, articles, Kindle books) and speaking (a monthly teleseminar and live events) on these topics. Of course, you will be notified of all of these.

I regret that some of you may be disappointed to lose New Moon Magic, and I can’t tell you how much I have appreciated your support., I hope you will stay with me and be inspired by what I will be sharing, going forward! (Please feel free to express your opinions and requests.)

At the bottom of this letter I will share some resources with you – a few of my favorite astrologers whose monthly communiques have contributed to these newsletters.

I plan to continue to follow the new moon energies and to plant my seeds of intention – and I encourage you to do the same.

Now for the New Moon in Scorpio, happening tomorrow, on the auspicious date of 11-11!

Scorpio is a powerful and passionate Feminine water sign, all about emotional intensity, diving deep, soul-searching, exploring the hidden, letting go of the old and making room for the new, death and rebirth and transformation. No light stuff here!  It’s about healing and regeneration and the Phoenix rising from the ashes. It’s about our deep desires and trusting the cycles of life. It’s about stripping ourselves bare to find the essential truth of our nature.

This month the new moon is conjunct Mercury, planet of mind and communication. So honesty, depth, and truth in communication – how we speak to ourselves and others – is key. Also, being mindful of the information we take in. (Maybe less is more.)

We are invited to face our fears, our shadows, anything we have been suppressing or denying –  because this will empower us. We are also invited to discover hidden gifts we didn’t know we had.

This coming New Moon in Scorpio:
Wednesday,  Nov. 11th, 9:47 a.m. Pacific, 12:47 p.m. Eastern, 5:47 p.m. GMT. (The intentions are best set around that time, or within 8 hours after, but within the next two to four days is also fine.)

WISE WOMEN WAKING/ BUSINESS BOOSTING TIPS:
The areas to focus on when setting intentions include:

    •    Power – Empowerment, charismatic leadership, holding secrets, awareness of others’ needs and motives, psychological acumen, group politics. Participation in groups and exercising your natural gifts and skills may gain you power.

    •    Transformation – Looking at what’s been suppressed or denied, letting go of the old and toxic, new beginnings, forgiveness, re-birth, riding with change. Allow the old to die in your business when the time is right. Allow for renewal and rebirth.

    •    Crisis Skills – Taking risks to achieve goals, handling crisis with competence, intensity, living on the edge, compulsions, obsessions, intense interactions. Often our work is intense and even obsessive. Watch how you manage those energies.

    •    Self-Mastery  – Depth of character, commitment to choosing the good, using strength and self-discipline to pursue one’s ideals, relentless pursuit of truth.

    •    Soul Mates – Intense relationships in sexual partnerships, deep emotional connections, and mutual validation. Tendency to explore psychological complexities and deep currents, self-revelation and and intense connections. Do your relationships with colleagues or clients ever feel like soul-mate connections?

    •    Financial Partnerships – Everything to do with loans, debt, grants, inheritance, contracts, and business relationships.

    •    Overcoming Misuse of Power – Be careful of tendencies to manipulate, power struggles, and jealousy, guilt, suspicion and revenge in intimate (or work) relationships.

    •    For health it concerns digestive system, intestines, colon, bladder, elimination and sexual organs. A good time to clear out old debris with a detox or cleanse.

Here are some tips for how to use the New Moon energy to plant effective wishes/ intentions/ visions:

1. Write them by hand. (You might want to keep a New Moon Magic journal – that’s what I’m doing. Or you could write them on cards and keep them in a drawer.)
2. Choose more than one but no more than ten wishes or intentions. (To activate but not dissipate the energy.)
3. Wait until the actual New Moon time or 8 hours after (between 12:47 and 8:37 p.m. Eastern, on Nov. 11th) or within 2-4 days after that (through Sunday, Oct. 15th around 12 noon. ET). Let the wishes form and choose the ones that feel most harmonious and right to you at that time.
4. In phrasing your intentions feel free to use words such as “I choose, I intend, I create, I wish or want to experience, I request, I ask for, I call to me…..”  One good choice is “I accept these things — or something better — into my life now, for my highest good, and for the highest good of all concerned.” And then list what you want in the present tense.
5. You might want to say them out loud after you write them down.
6. Some recommend lighting a candle. Or picture the paper you’ve written your list on irradiated by light burning away all anxiety around your desires.
7. Keeping your written intentions where you can refer back to them later, to see which actually came true, is part of this experiment. It’s also advisable to keep your intentions in mind, especially as the Full Moon approaches, the time for action. These intentions will also be powerful to review at the end of the year!
